JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- The Mississippi Public Service Commission has fined a Nevada company $20,000 for violations of the Mississippi "No-Call" law and rules associated with enforcing the law.

Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley announced the fine in a news release Thursday.

Presley says the fine was against Worldwide Commerce Associates LLC of Carson City, Nevada.

Presley says Worldwide Commerce Associates violated the law by failing to register and purchase the state's "No-Call" list. The company also allegedly called people on the list and used an automated dialing system to communicate with consumers.

The company shall be prohibited from making any calls as a telephone solicitor in Mississippi until the fine is paid in full.
