LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Former President Bill Clinton is endorsing Democrat John Oceguera in his campaign for Nevada's 3rd Congressional seat.
Oceguera's campaign announced the endorsement in a statement Thursday. The Nevada Assembly speaker said he's honored to have the support of a former president who stood up for the middle class.
Oceguera bested five Democrats in the June primary and will face off with Republican incumbent Rep. Joe Heck in November.
The 3rd District contest is expected to be among the closest races in the state. The district includes Henderson and is evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans.
Heck was elected to the House in 2010 after defeating Democrat Dina Titus. (AP)
