A local philanthropist and university professor is helping local families who really need it. And this man wants to stay anonymous.
But a very familiar face is spreading the word.
"Every few weeks, he's going to change and help a different group or a different family or a different cause."
Former Channel 2 anchor and reporter, Bill Brown says the man was looking for a way to give back.
That's when he met a 16-year-old girl whose father is dying from brain cancer - and her mother is a retired teacher.
Bill says the man donated money and is sharing their story on a billboard in south Reno to encourage others to donate as well.
"He is just making it possible for other people to learn their story and to be able to make a donation, no matter how small."
Donating is easy, just go to http://renocares.org/
By the way, we'd like to wish Bill a very happy birthday today. He says "60 is the new 40."
