Storey County Commissioners discussed mining truck routes during a public meeting on Tuesday.
They voted to continue the issue until after minutes from the planning commission's last meeting are approved. There's no immediate word on *when that will happen.
The Storey County Planning Commission previously voted 3-2 to amend the Comstock/Plum 2000 Special Use Permit which allows ore hauling by Comstock Mining Inc. on State Route 342.
If approved, CMI would be allowed to make 14 round-trips by hour, 10 hours a day, five days a week.
Neighbors say the plan would negatively impact tourism and local business. The Comstock Residents Association also says the planning commission approved the plan without conducting traffic and local business impact studies.
