Washoe County Receives High Bond Rating

Posted: Updated:

Washoe County bonds are still a good investment according to Standard & Poor's and Moody's Investors Services.

The companies have given the county a "AA" and "Aa2" rating - their second highest.

The county has maintained that rating since 2009.

Washoe County's manager says county commissioners are committed to keeping a fiscally responsible budget.

The reaffirmed ratings mean the county can now refinance existing debt at lower interest rates, saving taxpayers money.

Information about Washoe County's ratings can be found at Standard & Poor's public website at www.standardandpoors.com and Moody's Investors Service at www.moodys.com.
