Authorities say they're trying to contain a 86 gallon fuel spill after a plane crash at the Truckee-Tahoe Airport Thursday.
Authorities tell a Channel 2 photographer that the pilot most likely died from the 8:15am, but they're still not sure.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor tells the Associated Press the pilot was the only person aboard when the Piper Comanche crashed into a hangar about 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
Gregor says the plane is registered to a northern California man.
Paul Spencer of the Truckee Fire Protection District says there was no fire and there were no planes in the hangar at the time the single-engine aircraft went down.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash.
The airport is located in Truckee, about 10 miles northwest of Lake Tahoe. (AP)
