Police: Man Arrested After Showed Knife to Officer

Reno police have a man in custody after they say he showed a knife at an officer early Monday morning.

Police say just before 8 am Monday, an officer on patrol spotted someone causing a disturbance in the intersection of west 3rd and Sierra Streets.

When the unidentified officer stopped and got out of his patrol car, investigators say the man pulled out a knife and threatened the officer.

The officer drew his sidearm and the man peacefully surrendered.

55-year-old Darrell Eilertson was booked into the Washoe County Jail. He's charged with assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $20,000 bail.

No one was hurt during the incident.
