South Lake Tahoe Police have made an arrest in a shooting back in June, but they are still looking for another suspect and a person of interest.
Police say back on June 27th, officers responded to the area of Bonanza Avenue and B Street to investigate a possible shooting between pedestrians and a vehicle.
When police got on scene, they learned there was an exchange of gun fire between a pedestrian and an occupant of a vehicle driving past him.
Police say no one was injured in the shooting.
As police continue to investigate, they were able to identify the participants in the shooting and determined it was gang-related.
Police got arrest warrants for 19-year old Jahem Barton and 19-year old Cesar Caro. 21-year old Jamal Darrion Coffer was later identified as being involved in the incident and police also got a warrant to search his home.
Then, on early Wednesday morning, police were at an apartment complex on the 1900 block of B Street where they tried to arrest Barton at his home. They say Coffer was also staying in the complex. Police later found the two were not in their homes and appear to have fled the area.
Police searched the homes and found evidence of gang affiliation, but they couldn't find any firearms.
Police then went to Caro's home on Glenwood Way and Fairway Avenue early Friday morning. Caro was found inside and was arrested for attempted murder. He was taken to the El Dorado County Jail with a bail set for $150,000.
Barton is wanted is wanted on charges of participating in a criminal street gang and being a criminal street member carrying a concealed firearm. Police say Coffer is a person of interest and is wanted for questioning.
