Beginning Wednesday, August 1st, his first day at the Washoe County School District, Superintendent Pedro Martinez will host a series of 11 public meetings at schools and community centers to discuss the next steps for the District. The meetings, entitled Connecting With The Superintendent, allow members of the community to meet Martinez, ask questions, exchange ideas, and express their thoughts about how to provide the best possible education for the 63,000 students in the District.
"The Washoe County School District is dedicated to ensuring that our children succeed in school and graduate college- and career-ready," Martinez said. "Our greatest mission is to set our children on a course toward reaching their full potential. It is not acceptable to allow our children to lose hope, and I look forward to working with the community to help them find the success they deserve."
