Military personnel, past and present, were in attendance for President Barack Obama's speech at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center Monday.
When the president finished his remarks, just about everyone had something to say and the opinions given were across the board.
"I think he gave a lot of initiatives four years ago that he was gonna do for veterans and I think he's come full circle on that," said Retired U.S. Army Captain Sherron Conyers.
"The man works hard," said Retired U.S. Army First Class Sgt. Joseph Schirmers. "I think what he said was true and sincere. We need him for more years."
Shannon Brown is a disabled veteran and she said she liked what the president had to say, but she wants to see if he keeps his word.
"Basically, he said everything I wanted to hear and I'm hoping he follows through with everything he said because it's all the stuff veterans really need."
Lonnie Garza had retired from the U.S. Army. He said it seems the president is just saying what everybody wants to hear.
What am I going to say? He's a politician. I have to respect the man, he is our commander and chief. I hope he does keep his promises. We kept ours. We served this country."
