Reno Police have a man behind bars after he allegedly caused destruction in his hotel room Friday night.
Police responded to the Vagabond Inn on South Virginia Street on the report of a possible domestic disturbance in one of the rooms. Police was told by hotel managers that a man was screaming and breaking glass inside.
When police arrived on scene, they found the suspect, 32-year old Vathana Khiev, had broken out the windows to the room he was staying in and had thrown property out of the window into the parking lot.
Police say they couldn't make initial contact with Khiev so officers went into the room through the broken windows to check his medical condition. He later cooperated with officers inside and was immediately seen by REMSA personnel and was taken to the hospital. He was then arrested for destruction of property.
Police say Khiev caused a significant amount of damage to the room as well as flooding three rooms on the lower floor.
Based on talking with witnesses and Khiev, police say it appeared he was under the influence of narcotics during in this incident.
