Sparks police say a mother and her two young children were found safe in Sacramento after being reported missing earlier this month.
Police say a Secret Witness tip actually led them to their Northern California location on Tuesday.
24-year-old Vanessa Head and her children, two-year-old Michael Scanlon and 10-month-old Lilly Scanlon were found voluntarily staying with an acquaintance. Police haven't released any information on whether that acquaintance is the boyfriend she recently met online. On Monday, Lt. Pete Krall told Channel 2, "We believe they met consensually and willingly online. Everything that we know says that she went with him willingly. So, at this point, there's no suspicion of foul play, just a concern for her and her children."
Police and family members were concerned because Head took her children with her, and she has a cognitive disability.
Sparks police say Head's mother traveled to Sacramento and brought the children back to the Reno/Sparks area. They also say Head opted to stay in Sacramento and is not in any danger at this time.
