Authorities Look For Missing Sparks Mother, 2 Children
A young mother from Sparks and her two children are missing and Sparks Police say the circumstances surrounding the disappearances are suspicious.
Police say the three missing are 24-year old Vanessa Head and her children, two-year old Michael Scanlon and 10-month old Lilly Scanlon (All pictured to the right).
Last week, Vanessa told her family she was going to meet her new boyfriend, whom she met online.
Sparks Police Lieutenant Pete Krall said Vanessa did meet her boyfriend, but hasn't been seen or heard from since.
"There was a family member that reported to us that she saw Vanessa get into a light, silver or gray passenger car with a black man."
Krall said the man does have ties to Sacramento and Las Vegas and could be headed there.
He said they are concerned because Vanessa Head brought her young children with her, and she has a cognitive disability.
Krall said they don't have reason to suspect foul play at this time.
"We believe they met consensually and willingly online. Everything that we know says that she went with him willingly. So, at this point, there's no suspicion of foul play, just a concern for her and her children."
Again, police say the driver was a black man, who was wearing a white bandana and black shorts. The vehicle is a light gray or silver car.
