Aces Quartet Help Lead PCL To 3-0 Win In Triple-A All-Star Game

Posted: Updated:

BUFFALO, NY—All three Aces recorded a hit, and Jonathan Abaladejo nailed-down the save, helping lift the Pacific Coast League to a 3-0 victory over the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Game at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo.

Adam Eaton and Jake Elmore—batting 1-2 in the lineup—hit consecutive singles to lead-off the game, and both came around to score in the first inning, giving the PCL a quick 2-0 lead. In the fifth, Ryan Wheeler—who batted third behind Eaton and Elmore—singled to the left side.

Albaladejo came on with one out in the ninth and induced a ground ball and a strikeout to end the proceedings and collect the save.

The victory for the PCL snapped a three-game winning streak for the International League. Omaha's Wil Myers and Buffalo's Matt Harvey were named Top Stars.

With the conclusion of the 25th annual event, the countdown to the 2013 Triple-A All-Star Game at Aces Ballpark in Reno has officially begun.

The Aces will begin the unofficial second half at Aces Ballpark on Thursday to take-on the Salt Lake Bees.
