If you don't have a fan or an air conditioner....chances are you are among the lines of people at local stores like Home Depot, trying to find one.
"We still have quite a few in stock but the number of people looking for them now is incredible," says Carlos Martinez who works at the Home Depot on South Virginia Street in Reno.
And that's not the only business seeing a spike in business because of the high temperatures. The local community pools, like Idlewild in west Reno are seeing steady crowds.
And yogurt shops are packed. John Hurst of Reno owns three locations of Yogurt Beach.
"Business varies during the day but in the evenings we put 300-400 even 500 people through this location on Mayberry," he says. "And at our Spanish Springs location, we easily see 800-1,000 a night! There's no better marketing tool for us than good old Mr. Sun."
Movie theaters are another place you'll find lines.
"I'm just trying to beat the heat," said Leroy Clauson who's on vacation from the Bay Area. He and his wife were standing in line at the Century Theatre in Sparks.
"I can't say our business has doubled this week but we've sold almost twice as many tickets already today as we usually do on a Monday," said the manager of the Sparks Century Theatre.
And just outside the water fountains there were packed with people of all ages just trying to stay cool.
