Reno Police: Pedestrian Hit On Wells Avenue

Posted: Updated:

Reno Police are investigating a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian Saturday night.

Police say it happened around 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of Wells Avenue and Thoma Street.

Police learned the pedestrian crossed Wells near a busy median and was hit by a vehicle that was leaving the median on the other side. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with major injuries.

Police say the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk during the time of the accident.

The driver of the vehicle was contacted on scene and talked to police.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor in this incident.

Due to the nature of the pedestrian's injuries, the Reno Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team responded and took over the investigation, which they say is ongoing.
