The Eldorado Fireworks 500 Off-Road race isn't until Saturday, but the pre-race festivities are already underway.
"It's loud, a lot of people and it's a beautiful setting, pre-race type stuff," said George Antill, announcer of the High Desert Racing Association. "We have parties going on tonight. We had a monster party last night, we had a qualifying yesterday and this is incredible. I mean, Reno has really opened up."
Part of the festivities is Reno's All-American Barbeque Festival. While you are enjoying all that grilled grub, you can wash it down with a tasty beverage at The Red Dog Saloon Beer Garden.
There's also more than 60 vendors out here and tribute rock bands playing around the clock on two stages.
Of course, this is all about promoting Saturday's off-road race. Race officials say fans who come out will be seated on a plateau, which overlooks the 120 mile course.
The race begins at 9am tomorrow at the Tahoe-Reno Motorplex.
