640-Acre Ironwood Fire Fully Contained

A fire burning in Palomino Valley is now fully contained.

The Ironwood Fire has burned 640 acres since flaring up near Pyramid Highway and Ironwood Road around 7pm Monday.

Firefighters say it burned close to seven structures, but they were not damaged.

Crews from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District will patrol the area through Wednesday looking for hot spots.

No people or animals were hurt.

The cause remains under investigation.
