Reno Police say a body was found in the Truckee River Saturday night.
Officers responded to an unidentified area near the river around 9 p.m. for a report of a missing adult man.
Police say the victim was inner tubing with friends on the Truckee River throughout the day and was last seen in the area of Oxbow Park in Reno.
After searching for the victim themselves, his friends called police and a search was initiated by officers, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the Reno Fire Department.
Authorities soon found and recovered the unidentified victim's body from the river in the area of Idlewild Park.
Police say the death appears to be the result of an accidental drowning.
With the onset of summer, The Reno Police Department wants to remind the community to be cautious of strong currents and low temperatures of the Truckee River.
Those participating in water activities on the river are encouraged to use proper safety equipment, including life vests.
