Posted: Updated:

From the Reno Aces:

RENO, Nev.—Charles Brewer dealt a quality start, and the Aces banged-out 13 hits Wednesday night, as Reno topped the Fresno Grizzlies, 6-3, in the series opener at Aces Ballpark.

Reno did all of its offensive damage in the first four innings, and the Aces' pitching staff preserved the early lead, as the club snapped its brief three-game slide.

Brewer (4-5) earned the victory for Reno, scattering three runs on six hits over six innings. The right-hander struck out six and walked just one. After his exit, Chris Jakubauskas worked two scoreless frames, and Jensen Lewis finished the proceedings in the ninth for his second save.

Fresno starter Yusmeiro Petit (3-3) took the loss Wednesday, allowing six runs—five earned—on 11 hits over five innings.

At the plate for Reno, Adam Eaton and Jake Elmore registered three hits apiece. Ryan Budde collected a pair of RBIs.

The Aces and Grizzlies will hook-up again on Thursday night at Aces Ballpark. RHP Barry Enright (6-4, 5.36 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while LHP Jason Stevenson (2-1, 4.55 ERA) counters for Fresno. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT
