Community Associations Institute, Nevada Chapter, is seeking nominations for its new 'Ordinary People - Extraordinary Measures' 2012 Awards Program. The program is aimed at bringing recognition to Nevada residents who have shown remarkable efforts and acts towards others.
Nominations will be accepted through July 15 and should be sent to CAI at 9171 W. Flamingo Road, Ste. 100, Las Vegas, Nev., 89171. Nominations can also be submitted via e-mail at: info@cai-nevada.org, or via fax at 702-240-9690. CAI's 'Ordinary People - Extraordinary Measures' Awards luncheon will take place in Las Vegas at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Gold Coast Hotel located at 4000 West Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Award nominees need not be a member of CAI. Awards will be given in each of the following categories:
Community Service Volunteer
This award is given in recognition of someone who contributes to the community. This effort must have been conducted for the benefit of others with no thought of self promotion or self benefit.
Fire Department/Police Department /First Responders/Medical and Social Services
While our Public Servants contribute to our community on a daily basis, this award should be for going "above and beyond" what is normally within their job descriptions.
Life Saving
This award is given in recognition of someone who put their personal safety "on the line" to help someone else. This person saw someone in need and "jumped" in to help without any thought of his or her personal safety.
Northern Nevada Outstanding Citizen/Organization
This award is given in recognition of an outstanding individual or organization from our Northern Nevada area. Performance must have been "above and beyond" with no intent for praise or recognition.
Southern Nevada Outstanding Citizen/Organization
This award is given in recognition of an outstanding individual or organization from our Southern Nevada area. Performance must have been "above and beyond" with no intent for praise or recognition.
Youth/Juvenile
This award is given in recognition of a youth that consistently contributes positively to individuals, their school or their community.
Lifetime Achievement in Public Service
The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals who are committed to a cause greater than themselves, dedicating their time and energy to accomplish goals.
