Great Basin Brewing Expands Production With New Facility

Posted: Updated:

Nevada's oldest operating brewery is expanding to meet demand.

The Great Basin Brewing Company has purchased the old Buckbean Brewing facility on south Rock Boulevard.

We've maxed out capacity at both of our Sparks and Reno brewing facilities," said Tom Young, owner of Great Basin Brewing Company. "Acquiring this new space is a great opportunity at the right time. It will allow us to do what we do best: brew great, local, and exciting craft beer to satisfy the discerning palates of fine folks of northern Nevada and the surrounding areas. We believe award-winning, handcrafted brews made right here in northern Nevada, by Nevadans, are a great way to represent our state to the rest of the nation."

The purchase also included the brewing equipment -- to allow Great Basin to increase production of their signature brews - and even develop new brews.

The new facility will employ up to 10 new people and could begin bottling as early as the end of the summer.

Great Basin Brewing Company also plans to eventually upgrade the facility's current 30-barrel system to a 60-barrel system.
