P.U.C. Seeks Public Comment on Adjustment Rates

Posted: Updated:

The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada has scheduled a consumer session Tuesday, June 26, to hear public comment regarding NV Energy's application to adjust customer rates.

The application seeks approval of fuel and purchased power expenses for 2011 and to reset several renewable energy and energy efficiency program rates.

If approved by the PUCN as filed, Southern Nevada NV Energy customers would experience a 1.42% rate increase over all electric rate classes. The average monthly residential rate would increase $2.58, or 1.83 percent.

In Northern Nevada, a 1.20 percent electric rate decrease for all classes is proposed. That represents a reduction of 91 cents (1.11%) for the average monthly residential rate. For Reno and Sparks natural gas customers, a 0.19% increase across all rate classes is proposed. The average monthly residential rate would increase 8 cents (0.17%).
