On Monday, the European Union decided it will enforce sanctions against Iran starting July 1st.

"The choice is Iran's. It's now up to them to decide what it wishes to do. We'll continue our twin track approach. The sanctions that have been agreed will be implemented on the first of July - an embargo on Iranian oil imports," says Catherine Ashton.

Ashton says this will be the "toughest sactions ever" imposed by the European Union.

The sanctions are in response to Iran's pursuit of a nuclear program.
