Firefighters are making progress on an eastern Nevada wildfire that's burned 12,000 acres since starting as a U.S. Forest Service prescribed burn June 9.
Firefighters say the 12,000 acre North Schell Fire is now 60% contained. It's located near the Muncy Creek area of North Schell Mountain Range.
Full containment is expected on July 4th.
No structures are threatened.
The Kalamazoo Road and Recreation Site will remain closed for public safety. The public is encouraged to not travel on State Route 893 within the fire vicinity, for firefighter and public safety.
Almost 350 firefighters are working this fire.
