Woman Reports Attempted Break-in Near UNR

The Reno Police Department has issued a warning after a woman reported a prowler tried to get inside her apartment near UNR while she was alone.

The woman told police she left her window open for fresh air at her apartment on Terrace Drive. The sound of someone trying to get in through the window woke her up just after midnight Thursday.

She managed to scare the prowler away.

Reno Police say even on hot summer nights, first-floor windows should be shut and doors should be locked.
