Authorities will be looking for people who drink then operate their boats in areas like Lake Tahoe this weekend as part of a nationally-coordinated enforcement effort called 'Operation Dry Water.'
Here in northern Nevada, officers with the Nevada Department of Wildlife will patrol Lake Tahoe, Lake Lahontan and Topaz Lake.
They will hold an "Operating Under the Influence" checkpoint at an unnamed reservoir this Saturday and move extra officers to busy areas.
An "Operating Under the Influence" charge carries exactly the same penalties as a DUI -- including arrest, heavy fines and jail time.
