Governor Brian Sandoval has proclaimed Thursday "Nevada Dump the Pump" Day.
The goal is to walk or ride your bike to work or take the bus in an effort to save money, protect the environment and reduce dependence on foreign oil.
RTC is offering free rides Thursday for "Dump the Pump" Day to save you money - and collectively decrease the community's carbon footprint. RTC RIDE, RAPID, CONNECT and INTERCITY buses are all participating in the event.
If you record your trip online, you'll become eligible for prizes from RTC.
Every "green trip" you record starting Thursday all the way through July 31st will increase your chance of winning a prize.
