SAB JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico (AP) -- Leaders of the world's largest economies -- including President Barack Obama -- are gathered in Mexico, in the aftermath of the win by Greece's pro-bailout New Democracy party in Sunday's national elections.
A vote against the pro-bailout party could have forced Greece to leave the eurozone, a move that would have had potentially drastic consequences for the global economy.
The Spanish Prime Minister praises the Greek vote while speaking about his own country's problems, which the International Monetary Fund is already studying.
President Obama, meanwhile, is downplaying expectations for the summit. He is seeking bolder and quicker signals from Europe that it will contain its financial mess and keep it from sinking the U.S. economy and his re-election chances along with it.
