Sparks Police are investigating a fatal vehicle rollover accident Saturday morning.
Police tell Channel 2 News the blue, 2003 Acura two-door car was heading northbound on Sparks Boulevard before it rolled over into a field near Eagle Pass Road around 6 a.m.
The driver and passenger were taken to Renown Regional Medical Center. The passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver, identified as 23-year old Cody Vance, was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt and later died from his injuries at the hospital.
Police say evidence of alcohol was at the scene, but toxicology reports are pending. They also believe the car was traveling at a high-rate of speed before the accident.
Police say no other vehicles were involved.
They tell us the northbound lanes in that area are closed for while they investigate the accident.
