After last September's deadly crash at the Reno Air Races, there will be some changes made to this fall's 49th annual event.
But right now -- it's the 15th annual Pylon Racing Seminar happening out at Reno-Stead Airport to help get pilots ready.
Reno Air Racing Association President Mike Houghton says there will be changes for pylons four through 8 making one curve smoother and reducing the G Forces pilots will feel this fall.
He also said right now the association is focused on working with local businesses to raise the $1.7 million needed to pay for higher insurance.
"The most significant conversations we have had were with hotel-casinos. Their response to our plight has been very significant. We are looking at some numbers and a way to come up with a fair way for each of the properties helping to participate to eat away a big chunk of that," says Houghton.
Houghton says they've seen a spike in out-of-state ticket sales since they announced their permit was approved last month, but they still need more locals to buy.
