A mother whose son died in a car accident nearly 14 years ago in Reno has been able to turn her loss into something positive for local students.
"You know when he passed, his love for life, we just had to do something, we had to pay a tribute to him and it was just an easy focus from his family, from friends, our community's been amazing."
Right before his death, Ricky Woodring was planning a concert fundraiser for the baseball program at Galena High School where he was a student.
His mom Vickie has helped raise more than $100,000 in scholarships in her son's name.
And she has finished his plans -- the concert, is tomorrow night.
It's at the Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch Regional Park Saturday. Gates open at 6pm - the concert starts at 7:00.
The Greg Golden Band and The Markleevillians and Stout will perform.
Tickets start at $15 - you can get them at http://rickywoodringmemorial.com/
Proceeds will go toward music and baseball scholarships.
