Memorial Fund Set Up to Help Horses

Posted: Updated:

More than two weeks after a Clydesdale in Carson City was put down after falling into a ravine, a memorial fund has been set up to prevent other horses from suffering a similar fate.

Back on May 27th rescuers spent more than seven hours trying to free Zed from a ravine at Kings Canyon near Carson City after he slipped and fell.

While they were able to rescue him, sadly his injuries were two severe and he had to be euthanized.

Zed's owner says if a slug had been available to rescue him more quickly he might have survived.

She has set up a fund to raise money to buy such equipment for horse rescues.

To donate to it go to any U.S. Bank and ask for the fund under "In Loving Memory of Zed"

You can also mail a donation to:

1894 East William Street, Suite 4
