Car Hits Pedestrian Near Meadowood Mall in Reno

A stretch of Virginia Street near Meadowood Mall was closed for hours after a car hit a pedestrian Wednesday night in Reno.

Reno police say this happened in the southbound lanes of Virginia Street near Crummer Lane around 11 p.m.

The victim is a man in his 60s. He is hospitalized in the ICU with life-threatening injuries.

Virginia Street was back open by 3 a.m. Thursday.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but police say the man may not have been in a crosswalk.
