Summer-like temperatures are bringing lots of people to Lake Tahoe, but with the water only a chilly 50-degrees, the Coast Guard is worried there could be a rise in hypothermia cases.
The Coast Guard says last weekend a man jumped off a rental boat in Tahoe to swim to shore, but sadly he never made it.
They say this is the third cold water accident this spring and they all had one thing in common - the victims lost the ability to swim and sank.
The National Association of State Boating has made a 10-minute video focused on the danger of cold water and hypothermia and what you need to know to stay safe.
