Honda Recalls New Civics; Driveshafts May Come Apart

Posted: Updated:

Honda is voluntarily recalling 50,000 2012 Civics because the company says the driver's side shaft could fall apart.

If that happens while the car is in motion, it will stop since the engine is no longer connected to the wheels.

No injuries have been reported due to the recall.

Honda is encouraging owners to take their Civics to authorized dealers for replacement.

Mailed notifications will begin later this month.

Owners can also go online to check if their car is part of the recall by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009 and selecting option 4.
