Right off Interstate 80 at Robb Drive is a new burger joint that offers a unique taste to the traditional American favorite. In fact, Burger Me Reno offers a lot of different options to the burger. Co-owner, Jordan Spenella, explains. "We have a variety of different style burgers. From bison, ahi, free range chicken, no hormones, no antibiotic ground chuck burger."
Not exactly the greasy spoon burger joint from your childhood. Burger Me is all about healthy eating, natural meats and everything is made in house. And yes, Spenella, did say bison. "We call it the BBQ bison burger. We do it with cheddar cheese, bacon and jalapenos and BBQ sauce and bison's really lean and has a great flavor to it."
They also know where their meats and produce come from. Burger Me is the epitome of a restaurant who knows what people want and is offering them options. "Our burgers don't have any fillers, no pink slime in it and people are starting to become more health conscious on what they're eating. Our product is really good."
Burger Me started in Truckee four years ago. It just recently opened up in Reno. It's a small family-owned business that's growing on the belief that good food and friendly service are what keep people coming back. "We are family-owned and operated. So when you come here we want you to feel like family and like you're at home having a burger. But some really really cool style burgers."
Burger Me is located on Sharlands Avenue between Robb Drive and I-80 in northwest Reno. And tomorrow Burger Me is holding a benefit for the Susan G. Komen Foundation which helps combat breast cancer. "Burgers for Boobies" runs from 4 to 7 p-m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children which includes a burger, fries and a drink.
There will also be a bounce house, DJ and face painting. And if you wear pink you will get two tickets to a raffle to win prizes including a gift cards to Burger Me or Campo in downtown Reno.
