Northern Nevada has gained another centenarian.
Afton Sorensen turned 100 years old at the Diamond Residential Retirement Home in Reno.
She says she's seen a lot over her long life - one of her fondest memories was traveling to Europe at the age of 28.
She also cherishes getting to see WWII leaders, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Winston Churchill in person.
"We were in the most bitter nasty war and they kept us from going down. They always had an old joke for us, always said we'd be on top."
Sorensen says she believes a similarly inspirational leader will come along in the future.
