A man is behind bars after a four-hour standoff in Sparks.
It started on 9th Street between "D" and "E" Streets around 6 a.m. Thursday morning. Police learned Ryan Misner, a man with several felony warrants, was hiding inside a home. He was not cooperating and police believed he was armed and dangerous.
"You know, we had to be careful about our response so we cleared out the other residents that were inside and notified the SWAT team," said Sgt. Charlie Alt with the Sparks Police Department.
Police fired several rounds of tear gas, made their way inside the home then pulled out Misner. In addition to the felony warrants, he faces a charge of obstruction.
Other than a little exposure to the pepper-based tear gas, no officers were hurt.
They did find a handgun in the attic where Misner had been hiding.
