A Reed High school junior beat out eight other contestants in a nationwide art contest to win $10,000 for herself and her school.
"I feel very accomplished and very honored that I could be given this opportunity to give back to a school that's done so much for me and a community also."
Anne Mueller won $2,500 for herself and $2,500 for her art teacher along with $5,000 for Reed High's art department after receiving the most votes online in Lucerne's "The Art of Dairy" contest.
She and the other finalists had to decorate a ceramic cow to fit the theme of "Red White and Moo."
Her piece titled "Amazing Americows" is a tribute to great Americans and featured plays on their names.
For example, Thomas Edison became "Thomas Parmesan."
Anne says creating it helped her learn about putting together a big art project. "It took a lot of work, thankfully I've had my students help me and my teachers were a huge help. I've had a lot of support and I couldn't have done it without them."
She plans to study fine arts in college.
