Governor Brian Sandoval and Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki kicked off their tour of Nevada Tuesday at Pyramid Lake.

Their tour of Pyramid Lake is part of the Discover Your Nevada Campaign, which is aimed at encouraging locals to vacation here and spend money in Nevada.

"There are places like here at Pyramid Lake that you can have sporting opportunities to learn about the history and meet the people," said Governor Sandoval. "You won't get this anywhere else in the United States of America."

It was a busy day for the governor and the lieutenant governor.

They toured the fish hatcheries in Sutcliffe where they watched the spawning process. From there, they went to Popcorn Rock and looked for rare, American White Pelicans, near the mouth of the Truckee River. To cap off the afternoon, they took took part in some traditional storytelling on the reservation.

"It's just important we revisit these places and think about them," said Krolicki. "It's good for the economy, it's good for our culture and it's good for the soul. It's been a very exciting and rewarding program."
