A new AAA travel survey shows more people will be traveling this Memorial Day weekend despite high prices at the pump.

According to Gasbuddy.com a gallon of gas in Nevada averages about $3.94. That's up about half a cent since last week.

Nationwide, a gallon of gas is $3.70 - down about three cents the past week.

AAA's survey still projects 2.5 million mountain west residents plan on traveling 50 miles or more this Memorial Day holiday weekend - a slight increase of 1.6% from last year.

That same study also asked travelers how they plan to save money this holiday weekend .

34 percent of travelers said they will limit their spending on entertainment. Many also said they were saving on hotels and choosing to stay with family or friends.
