NV Energy celebrated the installation of its largest solar water heating system at a Reno apartment complex.
The company presented "The Reverend Willie J. Wynn Orvis Ring Senior Living Apartments" near Evans Avenue with a $60,000 rebate check from its solar water heating incentive program.
Project managers estimate the complex will save 3,300 therms of natural gas a year.
That will mean savings on their utility bill too - money the complex will use to make other improvements. "When we do the budget and the budget area and stuff, we'll have extra money to do things for tenants and support them and not have a higher utility bill," says Cloyd Phillips.
The complex says they'll have to wait three or for months to get a reading and see exactly how much they'll save.
