University of Nevada (24-19, 7-5 WAC) junior Tom Jameson pitched a shut out as the Wolf Pack defeated Fresno State (18-22, 2-7 WAC) 1-0 in the final game of a three-game Western Athletic Conference series at Peccole Park Sunday afternoon. With the victory the Pack won two of the three games in the series after an 8-2 victory on Friday.
The Pack improved to 24-19 and 7-5 in WAC play while FS fell to 18-22 and 2-7 in conference action.
Jameson and FS starter Thomas Harlan was locked in a pitchers battle most of the game. Harlan held Nevada hitless until the sixth when Brooks Klein singled but the Pack were unable to score leaving two runners on base.
In the seventh Garrett Yrigoyen doubled with one down and was sacrificed to third base. Harlan was lifted from the game and Cody Kendall came on to face Carlos Escobar. Escobar singled inside the third base bag to score Yrigoyen with the only run of the game.
Jameson (6-1) earned the victory allowing no runs on eight hits to record his sixth victory of the season. Harlan (4-7) was the hard luck loser giving up the lone run on two hits in 6.2 innings of action.
Nevada returns to action on Tuesday hosting St. Mary's at 2 p.m.
