A 73-year-old California driver has life threatening injuries and his 66-year-old wife is dead after a rollover accident near Lovelock.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says the Sacramento man had been veering to the side of Interstate 80 when he overcorrected and rolled his Honda Civic about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The passenger died at the scene of the crash in Churchill County, about 15 miles west of Lovelock.

The unconscious driver was airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where he was listed in critical condition Thursday morning.

Authorities say the husband does not yet know his wife has died. Troopers have not released the victims' names and are seeking to notify the next of kin. (AP)
