The Reno Aces and Channel 2 News teamed up this year to offer fans om-nom-nomdays. Om-nom-nomdays is a $1 food promotion for nachos, hot dogs and ribs.
"We have our dollar nachos, which is our standard stacked high chips with piled high cheese," said Reno Aces Executive Chef Bill Deaver. "Then, of course, our ribs are coming on strong. We absolutely killed it with ribs last year. Our fans actually told us that they loved them to the tune of 4,000 ribs each time we put them out."
Of course, there's hot dogs as well. Deaver said the dogs and sausages are made by the Sausage Factory in Carson City and those are a buck as well. Om-nom-nomdays was an idea created to allow fans to watch a game and get an affordable dinner as well.
Deaver said the food promotion nights have been a huge hit in the past.
"We're prepared to do 3,000 or 4,000 nachos tonight. So, it's definitelly about getting all the chips, all the nacho cheese, lining everything up and setting up a big assembly line and putting everything together for the fans when they come in."
