After a road trip to Fayetteville, Ark. and a meeting with the No. 3 team in the country, the University of Nevada baseball team will return to Peccole Park for three games against Loyola Marymount University, from Friday-Sunday this week. Game one will be Friday, with a first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
After welcoming the Lions to Peccole for Alumni Weekend, Nevada will head to UC Davis to meet the Aggies in one game, at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 26.
Nevada comes into this weekend's action at 10-9, dropping its last contest 10-2 to the third-ranked Razorbacks. LMU is 7-10, while UC Davis is 10-9.
The Wolf Pack was scheduled to play twice against Arkansas, but the Tuesday's game was rained out, and inclement weather forced the start time of game two to be pushed back 15 minutes. Troy Marks took the hill for the Pack on Wednesday, falling to 0-2 after going two innings and giving up four runs.
Kewby Meyer drove in both of Nevada's runs on a single in the first, pushing his season total to eight RBI. Junior and newcomer Brett Jones has reached base in the last 18 games. The only game this season that Jones has not reached base in was Nevada's season opener against New Mexico.
Former Nevada pitcher Rich Jameson, father of current Pack starter Tom Jameson, organized the weekend to help connect the former Pack players with the current ones. A host of players from the last four decades will be back at Peccole Park this weekend, looking to see their teammates and friends, and get to know the current generation of Nevada baseball players.
