If you enjoy food, the Biggest Little City is the place to be this week. Chefs, students and food service professionals from around the region are showing off their skills at the American Culinary Federation's Regional Conference in Reno.

Tuesday, eight student teams showed off their skills in the hot food portion of the competition. The winner will head to nationals in Florida.

Director of TMCC's Culinary Program, Chef Karen Cannan said all her students have to not only make a mouthwatering dish but pay attention to the details.

"Not only have they worked on the plate design and presentation, but they've had to work on overall plate from the bottom up, calorie nutrition, everything involved as well for a balanced dish."

Reno's Culinary conference also features some of the world's most renown chefs at John Ascuaga's Nugget and the Peppermill. They had all sorts of things to do. There was a pasta tour of Italy and even seminars for those who love cooking.

We spoke with Chef Cheryl Aston. She's a student at Utah Valley University. She said her team has been preparing for regionals for six months and she is hoping the hard work will pay off.

"We make everything completely from scratch. We make homemade pastas, homemade cakes homemade everything's completely from scratch. It's very difficult. We do that so we'll win."

The winner of regionals will be announced Wednesday night, when the conference wraps up it's Reno event.
