It's so new, the old signs are still on the building. But what was once home to Butcher Boy and the Emporium is now a pizzeria. David Nicol is the owner of the Bronx Pizzeria. "Pizza is inflation proof. Pizza and beer. People who like pizza like myself, will eat pizza twice a week and we decided to deliver it on the south end and that was a good choice."

David is a Manhattan native. But it took him a long illustrious career to get to Reno. Besides having an airport runway striping business, he also worked as the director of catering for Bill Graham Presents. Famous people from Mick Jagger to the Pope have tasted his food. "Madonna is very nice, very professional. It's not like how you see her out on stage."

But he came to Reno to retire. And for David, apparently retirement means opening a pizzeria. And what you get at the Bronx Pizzeria is New York style pizza.

David is introducing us to Neapolitan thin crust pizza just like he grew up with.

There's only one size pie here. 18 inches. And their speciality? It's called the Tom's Pick Four. You get four different types of pizza in one pie. "It has two slices of Bronx zoo, two Yonkers, two cheese and two Whiteplanes."

It's not just pizza, but pasta dishes, hero sandwiches, chicken piccata and calzones. David's own Italian recipes are all over the menu. A fun new place to check out the next time you're craving pizza or almost anything else Italian.

The Bronx Pizzeria is located at 7300 South Virginia Street. For more information, call 775-853-1111.
