Nevada (25-5, 12-1 WAC) improved to 25-5 and ended the year 13-1 in Western Athletic

Conference play after defeating Louisiana Tech (16-15, 6-8 WAC) 79-69 tonight.

Winners of the Western Athletic Conference regular season title, Nevada is the top seed in

next week's conference tournament and will play San Jose State on Thursday at 6 p.m. PT. For

the second year in a row the tournament will be held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Senior Dario Hunt posted his 13th double-double of the season finishing with 16 points and 14

Four Pack players scored in double figures for the 13th time this season with Deonte Burton

leading the way with 20 points. Hunt (16), Jerry Evans, Jr. (13) and Malik Story (11) also

reached double digits.

Burton's 20-point game was his team leading ninth of the season and 15th of his career. He

scored 15 of the points in the second half.

Evans' 13 points is his first double figure scoring game since Feb. 12 at Hawai`i when he also

scored 13.

Third-year head coach David Carter is now 59-37.

Story scored in double figures for a team-high 23rd time tonight.

Nevada outrebounded LA Tech 48-21. The 27 is the largest rebound margin of the year for

the Pack.
