Nevada (25-5, 12-1 WAC) improved to 25-5 and ended the year 13-1 in Western Athletic
Conference play after defeating Louisiana Tech (16-15, 6-8 WAC) 79-69 tonight.
Winners of the Western Athletic Conference regular season title, Nevada is the top seed in
next week's conference tournament and will play San Jose State on Thursday at 6 p.m. PT. For
the second year in a row the tournament will be held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Senior Dario Hunt posted his 13th double-double of the season finishing with 16 points and 14
rebounds. It was his sixth in the last seven games and 24th of his career.
Hunt has 990 career rebounds leaving him 10 short of becoming the fourth player in Nevada
history to reach the 1,000 rebound mark.
Four Pack players scored in double figures for the 13th time this season with Deonte Burton
leading the way with 20 points. Hunt (16), Jerry Evans, Jr. (13) and Malik Story (11) also
reached double digits.
Burton's 20-point game was his team leading ninth of the season and 15th of his career. He
scored 15 of the points in the second half.
Evans' 13 points is his first double figure scoring game since Feb. 12 at Hawai`i when he also
scored 13.
Third-year head coach David Carter is now 59-37.
Story scored in double figures for a team-high 23rd time tonight.
Nevada outrebounded LA Tech 48-21. The 27 is the largest rebound margin of the year for
the Pack.
Nevada improved to 15-2 at home.
